PATUTAHI SCHOOL-HOUSE, 3 P.M., TO-MORROW. 55 COOK COUNTY COUNCIL. NOTICE is herebyi-given that on Thursday, the Sth day of May, 1884. The following By-law will be made by a special order of this Council. By-law No. 7. That all horses, cattle, or vehicles, shall be taken or driven across any bridge under the control of this Council, at a walking pace only. ELECTORS' ROLLS, 1884-5. rpilE Electors’ Rolls for the year 1884-5 are now on view at the office of the Council, Lowe Street, Gisborne, and a copy of the rolls of the several Ridings may be seen at the following places:— Gisborne Riding—Mr. Murchie’s Store, Makaraka. Arai Riding—Mr. Bilham’s House, Patutahi Waikohu Riding — Mr. George Scott’s House. Tologa Riding—The Courthouse, Tologa Bay. Waiapu Biding — Mr, Milner’s Store, Tuparoa.

Any person who considers himself aggrieved by any entry therein or omission therefrom, may, on or before the 81st May, 1884, apply for relief to the Resident Magistrate’s Court which is nearest the place where the roll of the Riding is kept. NOTICE is hereby given that the Cook County Council will, on TUESDAY, the 6th day of May, 1884, take a Poll of the whole of the ratepayers of the County to ascertain whether they are willing to pay a special annual rate for ten years of one twohundredth part of a penny in the pound on the value of all rateable property within the County, for the purpose of re-paying to the Government one-fourth of £l,OOO granted under the Roads and Bridges Construction Act, for the following works: — Waimata Road— Drain four miles of this Road, fascine and form 36 chains, construct necessary culverts. Estimated cost, £3OO. Gisbobnb-Toloca Bay Road. Form new bridle track, seven feet on solid, 158 chains; drain, fascine, and form portions; ease grades and widen present road; erect new culverts. Estimated cost, £7OO. The amount yearly payment is £25. The amount of special rate necessary to meet it is 1-200 of a penny in the £l. The plans, specifications, and detailed estimates of the works may be seen at the office of the Council, Gisborne, during office hours. The poll will bejtaken on the 6th day of May, 1884, at the following places:— Gisborne Riding:—The Public Hall, Makaraka : the Courthouse, Ormond. Arai Riding:—Mr. J. D. Watts' store, Arai; Mr. Bilham’s house, Patutahi. Waikohu Riding ;—Mr. Geo. Scott's woolshed. Tologa Riding :—The Courthouse, Tologa, and Mr. Wilson’s house, Haiti.
