[Per United Pbess Association.] MEETING OF PARLIAMENT. Wellington, April 7. A Supplementary Gazette issued this evening calls Parliament together for the despatch of business on the Sth June. CRIMINAL SESSIONS. At the Supreme Court Graham Mayse was acquitted on a charge of indecent assault. P. K. Watty pleaded guilty to three indictments for forgery, and was remanded for sentence. Four other charges were withdrawn. The sessions will close to-morrow night. Later. At the Supreme Court, P. K. Watty, formerly Commission Agent here, was sentenced to five years for forgery. O.IRISTCHUBCH, April 7. By the steamer Ruapehu on Saturday the Acclimatisation Society sent a number of Paradise and Blue Mountain ducks to the London Zoological Society. HEARTLESS CHILD DESERTION. Dunedin, April 7. At the Police Court to-day Norah Walsh was commuted for trial for abandoning her child on the Pine Hill Road. It appeared that the cries of the infant attracted the notice of a paaser-by, but the night was dark, and it was only rf half-an-hour’s search he discovered it. DESTRUCTIVE FIRE. A three-roomed house belonging to Robert G. Anderson, station-master at Burkes, was destroyed by fire on Sunday morning. The building was insured for £l5O, and furniture for £lOO, in the London and Lancashire office.
