THE LATE SORTIE AND COWARDICE. WHOLESOME EXAMPLE. FAMISHED CONDITION OF THE ENEMY. [Beuiebs Teleobams.j Caibo, March 31. Telegrams to hand from Khartoum state that Gordon Pasha is adopting stringent measures to suppress disaffection among the Egyptian troops forming the garrison of that town, and has caused to be executed two Soudan Pasha’s for treachery during the disastrous sortie on the 16th instant. Major General Gordon reports that he has received supplies, and is hopeful that his measures for the suppression of rebellion will meet with success. Reports reached him to the effect that the enemy are greatly in want of provisions, and that numbers of them are in a famishing condition. April 1. Information has reached Souakim that Osman Digna with a thousand followers, among whom are many influential Sheikhs, is now encamped near Temaneb and preparing to flight the tribes in the neighborhood who are friendly towards the British.
