[Per Press Association.l New Plymouth, March 18. Yesterday the schooner Colonist, from Lyttelton, crossed the Waitara bar at half ebb, but the current being too strong she took the ground on the South Spit, where she now remains. Auckland, March 18. The ship Northumberland has arrived from London (92 days) with a large number of cabin passengers and Government immigrants. March 19. Arrived—Wairarapa, from Sydney. Sailed—H.M.S, Lark, for Sydney. Rotomahana for Sydney, among her passengers were the hon. Gillies and Kerford of Victoria. They were entertained by Judge Gillies and Sir F. Whitaker. A considerable number assembled at the steamer to bid them goodbye.
