A prize of £2OO has been offered for for a match between professional scullers, the winner to meet Hanlon, the American oarsman. New Zealand wheat is at 3s. 3d. New Zealand oats, 2s. Bd. Maize, per 561b5., 4s. 9d. Sugar Company’s No. 1 pieces remain at £34 per ton. March 17. The City of Sydney, from San Francisco via Auckland, arrived on Saturday evening. NARROW ESCAPE. A boat containing passengers from the s.s. City of Sydney, was yesterday cut in two by the steamer Emu. The occupants of the boat had a miraculous escape. ANOTHER DESTRUCTIVE FIRE. A destructive fire occurred last night in Borthwick’s old warehouse, George Street. The insurances on the property amount to £16,000. Adelaide, Mai ch 15. Wheat is quoted to-day at 3s. lid. to 45., f.0.b., market quiet; flour, town brands, £9 10s. to £lO ; country ditto, £8 10s. to £8 15s. The market continues quiet, and there is little doing. Freights to London are—Steamers, 455., nominal; sailing, 355. to 40s. Freight to the United Kingdom from out-ports—Sailing, 375. to 40s.
