COOK COUNTY COUNCIL. nVT OTICE is hereby given that the Council -L’* will hold a Special Meeting on THURSDAY, the 13th March, 1884, at 11 o’clock a.m., for the purpose of amending the Valuation Roll of the County, by entering thereon the names of all persons who have become “ occupiers ” or “ owners ” of land, or who have disposed of such interests since the roll was compiled, viz.—December, 1882. All persons interested are invited to inspect the rolls now on view at the office of the Council, Gisborne, and made such objections as they deem necessary before the above date. Entrance, 10s. 8. FORCED HANDICAP, £7. — Winners compulsory, except of Hack and Stockmen’s Races ; losers optional. 1| miles. Entrance, £l. 9. CART-HORSE RACE, £5 and £1 ss. bridle. 2 miles; 12st. up. For all horses that can pull lOcwt. in a spring cart half-mile round the course after the race. Entrance, 10s. same night as nominations. Nominations for the Handicap Hurdles and Kaiteratahi Handicap to close at 8 p.m. on the 6th March, and must be addressed to the Secretary', Kaiteratahi Hotel. The weights to be declared on the 10th. Acceptances close on the 14th March. All other entries must be made to the Secretary at the Kaiteratahi Hotel on or before the 14th March at 8 p.m.

The rules of the Poverty Bay Turf Club adhered to, except where otherwise stated. No one will be allowed to enter a horse unless he be a subscriber to the funds of £l, except in the Hack Races. All protests must be accompanied by £2 25., to be forfeited at discretion of Stewards, if not maintained. The decision of the Stewards to be final. W. DEVERY, 2010 Hon.
