(MUTIB’s TXMSORiMB.) London, Feb. 22. The s.s. Austral has been chartered for the Atlantic trade. Msiaowtra, Feb. 28. The Age to-day publishes a telegram from its correspondent at Hobart, stating that While the Union steamship Wairarapa was racing the steamship Adelaide from Melbourne to the Heads, a collision occurred between the two vessels when nearing the Swanspit light. The stern of the Wairarapa was struck, and a plate was dinted to the depth of three inches above the cook’s berth, which was much damaged. It is estimated that the repairs to the Waharapa will cost fully £l,OOO. The correspondent of the Age declares that the passengers on board expressed great indignation at the occurrence.
