(beuter’s telegrams.) London, Feb. 18. The ship Mercia has arrived from Wellington (Nov, 23), Melbourne, Feb. 19. Arrived, Last night — Steamship Wairarapa, from Bluff.
[Per Press Association.! Wellington, Feb. 19. The barque Fusileer was purchased at auction to-day for £275. The steamer Wareatea, from Lyttelton to Westport, has put in here, one of her firemen, named George Johnston, having dropped dead last right. He was only shipped at Lyttelton yesterday, and had only been on duty one hour and a-half trimming coal in the bunkers. He had not been complaining. Napier, Feb. 19. A proposal has been made to send the steamer Triumph here when she is repaired to load with frozen meat. Auckland, Feb. 19. The Manapouri has arrived from Sydney. Sailed—Te Anau, for Sydney. Among the passengers were Victorian bowlers. Opawa, for Lyttelton. Loongana, for Newcastle. Hawea, for South. Passengers—Mr. and Mrs. Quick, Mrs. Powell, Miss Mindin, Messrs.
