Distance two miles, over six flights of hurdles 3ft, Gin. high. Top weight, 12st. 2. MAIDEN PLATE, weight forage, of £l2 ; open to all horses that have never won a subscribed prize of the value of £5. Distance l|-miles. Entrance £l. 3. WAIAPU HANDICAP, of not less than £2O. Distance Is-miles. Top weight Ost. 71b. Nomination of £1; acceptance £.l 10s. 4. HACK RACE, of £5. Distance 1 mile. Entrance 10s. 5. STEWARDS’ PURSE, of not less than £l2. Distance l|-miles. Welter weights for age, gentlemen riders. Open to all horses, the bona fide property of the members of the * Waiapu Race Club. Nomination £l. 6. FORCED HANDICAP, of not less than £l2. Distance 1 mile. Compulsory to winners, optional to losers, hacks excepted. Top weight lOst. Entrance £l. CONDITIONS : No person allowed to enter a horse the property of another person, unless both be a subscriber of at least £1 to the race-fund. Hacks excepted. No entry will be received for any race, except upon* the conditions that all claims, disputes. and objections arising shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint, and their decision upon all points shall be final. All protests to be accompanied with the deposit of £2, to be forfeited if the protest is considered frivolous. Two horses to start in each race or only half the money will be given. Hack shall mean a horse that has never started in a weight for age or handicap race of the value of £5. Nominations for Hurdle Race and Waiapu Handicap to be in the hands of the Secretary, together with entrance-fee, not later than 8 p.m. on the evening of the Bth Feb. Nominations must contain the name, age, description, and pedigree (if known) of the horse, and colours of the rider. All nominations must be under sealed cover, addressed to the Secretary of the Waiapu Race Club, Waipiro, and endorsed entry for Waiapu Races. No delayed nominations will be received. Weights to be declared on February 22nd, Acceptances to close on 7th March, night of general entry. All races run under the Poverty Bay Jockey Club rules and weights. J. A. In all La Don’s Consultations members of the Press are privileged to have their names placed on the Committee roll for drawing. Persons taking twenty-five Tickets receive the same privilege. For the encouragement of Companies, persons taking twenty-five tickets will receive one Ticket as commission. La Don’s last Consultation of 6,000 Shares filled five days before date of race. P.O. Orders, Bank Notes, or Drafts accepted ; add exchange to Cheques, and two Stamps for reply and result. Note. —The names and addresses of the three principal winners may be obtained by the Press on application to the undersigned, but not for publication. Result posted to all Subscribers.
