[rzuter’s telegrams.' Sydney, Feb. 2. The Waihora sailed for Auckland yesterday afternoon. [Pkb Press Association.] Napier, Feb. 2, Arrived, 3 a.m.—Southern Cross ; 6.15 a.m., Wairarapa, both from Gisborne. Christchurch, Feb. 2. Two of the sailors of the Sarah W. Hunt have instituted proceedings against the captain for fraudulent misrepresentations and breach of contract. The damages claimed are £1,500. Auckland, Feb. 2. Arrived—Wanda, from Newcastle. The Resident Magistrate gave judgment on the stranding of the Douglas at Airdale, Taranaki. His Worship said that, in the opinion cf the Court, the vessel struck on some outlying rocks, and Captain Bonner, though steering on a light which he mistook for the flagstaff light, brought the vessel too close to the shore; and that in taking a S.W. course when he discovered his error, he brought the vessel on to the extremity of the reef. The evidence disclosed some amount of carelessness on the part of the captain; but, looking at the slight damage and other circumstances, the Court could not interfere with his certificate. He must, however, pay costs, £8 19s.
