Consols remain at 101|, and New Zealand securities as follows: —Five per cent. 10-40 loan, 105; 5 per cent. 1889 loan, 103| ; 4| per cent. 1879-1904 loan, lOlf ; 4 per cent, inscribed stock, 100. The market for Colonial wheat is quieter, but steady. Adelaide (ex store) remains at 445., and New Zealand (ditto) at 86s. to 425. Adelaide flour (ex warehouse) 315., fair. Tallow is dull. Australian beef, average quality, is quoted at 395. 6d.; ditto mutton, 425. fid. The wool-market is steadier. The new arrivals to date for the next auction amount to 160,000 bales. A communication has been addressed by the Spanish Government to the English Government with a view of obtaining further concessions on Spanish wines imported into Great Britain. It is expected that the additional sum of £400,000 (gold) will shortly be withdrawn from the Bank of England for Australia. Berlin, Jan. 29.
