Captain Berg, owned by Messrs Robins and Day, of Kaiapoi, hss been totally wrecked on the rocks st Waitana, a point near the entrance to Porirua Harbor, sh« was bound from Kaiapoi to Havelock, Id ballast, and ran under Mana Island for shelter from the furious gale blowing. Yesterday, during a equal!, both cables parted, and effort was made to reach Porirua Harbor, but the vessel wes driven on the rocks by the heavy sea running. The crew, who numbered three, landed safely, and managed to save the rigging, but the veaecl is beyond recovery. She is believed to be insured.
