[From ova own Correspondent.] Auckland, Jan, 11, Buckland's weekly report—At the Haymarket on Friday, 4th January, fodder was in full supply, and brought from 3s to 6s 6d per cwt; straw’, 20s to 67s 6d the load. Horse stock were in less number than usual, but there was a fair inquiry, particularly for heavydraught stock, for which there is an unsatisfied deOn Tuesday both hay and straw were in larger quantity than for some weeks, and met a steady sale at Friday’s values. On Tuesday last hides brought from 2Jd to 3Jd per lb, sheepskins Is Id to 3s 3d each, tallow 27s 6d per cwt, and a very numerous lot of bags and parcels of wool and locks at satisfactory- prices. On Wednesday about 230 bales cf wool were sold, The bidding was brisk throughout, and the prices given were higher than at any previous sale this season. At Pukekohe, on th»* Monday following, consequent on the opening of the factory, cows were in good demand at an advance of 30s each above the Waiuku prices, and sheep were comparatively neglected. There was a large muster of cattle yarded at Ruemera on Thursday. Dairy cattle were in better enquiry than for some time past. Store cattle, particularly heifers, were at low value. Fat cattle in full numbers met with a steady demand throughout the sale, at last week’s values, ‘sheep were plentiful, but not many of prime quality. Prices were good throughout. Best wethers, 18s 6d, fully per lb. Lambs were in moderate numbers, and those of good quality ranged from 12s to 16s each. Market alterations—Eggs (at wholesale), Is per doz ; retail Is 3d. Butter, fresh (wholesale), Sd ; salt, 5d to 7d. Retail, fresh, lOd ; salt, 8d to lOd.
