[Rbutxb’b Tleohams.] (Received Jan, 4.20 p.m.) London, Jan. 7. Various colonial Agents-Generai to-day waited upon the Duke of Buckingham, Chairman of the Executive Commission for ths Colonial Exhibition to be held in London in 1886. His grace took occasion to urge on the Colonial Governments to take immediate shares in the exhibition of matters connected with health and good education to be held in London this year, also to cable the amount of space they will require, and to be in time for the reception of exhibits. Sir P. Cunliffe Owen, who was present, urged that the attention of the public should be called to the colonial products by arranging for the exhibitions, booking, and carriage. The AgentsGenerals cordially acquiesced in the suggestion of the duke ami Sir Cunliffe Owen as likely to lead to results both useful and beneficial to the colonies. (Received Jan. 8, 8.40 p.m.) New Yoke, Jan. 7. A serious fire ocouired last night at the Convent at Belleville, Illinois, resulting in the destruction of the building and the death of twenty-seven nuns and pupils, who perished in the flames before assistance could reach them. Alexandria, Jan. 7. The members of the Egyptian Ministry have tendered their resignations to the Khedive.
