TO THE EDITOR OP THE TELEPHONE. Fbiend, Greeting, — Please insert our notice to the New Zealand Native Land Settlement Company, or to their directors and agents. We have heard that the Company, or its employees, are coming to make fences and do other work besides fencing on our land at Pakowhai. This is the reason we send notice to them. If this hearsay is correct, and the Company have thoughts of doing these things, we wish to tell them that they must not come on our lands to make fences, roads, ditches, to make surveys or put sheep and cattle on them, or meddle in any way whatsoever with Te Kuri, Tangatete No. 1, Tangatete No. 2, and Te Kopua; for we have served a writ on Rees and Wi Pere for the recovery of these lands, which the* Supreme Court will decide. Enough—now that you have seen our notice, if you do not take heed of it, we will know that you are not following the law, but are going outside of it, and wish us to do so also. As these things cannot be right in the sight of the law, it would be better to do things properly, and await until the decision of the Supreme Court has settled everything. Signed by us— Na Eru Pohatu. Hemx Waaka. Nepia te Paka, Eru Riki. Hibini te Ratu. Himiona Riki. Hemi Mahuki. Te Waaka te Whabe Kobebo, Penb Hokotupeka. Mibiama Waihi, Klbiana Kiwi.
