BOATING.
The crews picked on Friday last to row next month do not appear to be going in for as much practice as it is considered they require. All this week only about two whole crews have been out practising, and they, only now and again. Certainly two crews, —viz., Messrs. Ward’s and Barnes’— cannot possibly get out, as in the former one man is absent, and in the latter there is one man short. The other strokes should commence work at once, as most of their men are new at the work and will require all the practftte aad coaching they can procure to get themselves into the necessary form by the day of the race. We hope to see more energy displayed during the coming week. _____
