Bd.; liabilities, £37 ; buiance to credit, £3 5s Bd. Mr. hatcliffe thought they rould reasonably expect to get in much more than £2O of tne subsc iptioijs ; but even if they did not the members oug t not to mind putting their hands into thrir pockete. Mr. Watson wished to know if they could not raise money on their boats ? Mr. E. H. Favilt said there was stfircely a olub in the Colony but what had that sort ofthing. NEW BOAT-SKID. Mr. Ratcliffe next explained to the meeting the proposed alterations an 4 addition! to the boat-shed, which Mr. bkeet had offered to execute at a cost of £55. He (Mr. Ratcliffe) not alone thought the price very reasonable, but the terms uf payment were such as to meet all difficulties :—viz., £25 on completion of work, and the remainder in any reasonable t ime ; and if, at the finish of the work, Mr. fckeot found any balance remaining alter paying all expenses he would return it in the shape of a trophy t-» be rowed for by the Club. He (Mr. Katcliffe) bad not the plans there, but they hid b en fully considered and approved of by the Committee, and it now remained with that meeting to cither accept or reject the offer. Ho should he most, happy to hear any expressions of opinion from members. In answer to a question from Mr. Cresswell, the Treasurer said there whs upwards of £2(i in doubtful subscriptions, some of which might be got in. Mr. Cresswell said they must send Edwards something off the boats. There was £3O yet owing on them, aud Edwards had waited

patiently. They must send him, say, half that amount. Several members spoke as to the necessity I which existed for a larger shed, pointing out that the boats were getting much damaged by being kept in such a confined •pace in the present one. Mr. Watson moved, and Mr. E. H. Pavitt seconded, “That the recommendation of the Committee as to the proposed alterations to the boat-shed be adopted.”—Carried unanimously. P NEW MEMBERS, On a proposition being brought forward for several new joining members, Mr. Watson moved, and Mr. Berry seconded, “ That the rule applying to election of members by ballot be suspended for this evening.”— Carried. "X Mr. Ratcliffe proposed and Mr. Brown seconded, “That Mr. John Townley as hon. member, and Messrs. W. A. Martin and J. Mouat as active members, be duly elected .’’—Carried. TRIAL FOURS. Mr. Ratcliffe said he had indirectly heard that expressions of dissatisfaction had fallen from some members at the selections of crews which had been made. He could assure them that he had gone most carefully through the lists and had done his best. If any one would bring their objections forward »he would use his best endeavors to rectify ■bhe mistake if such was possible. The thing ■hast be brought forward at once, otherwise could not be entertained, as it would be most unfair to disturb the crews after commencing practice. No one having raised any objections, the meeting closed with the usual compliments to the chairman and officers.
