Traitor by Tradueer, out of Deception, by Young Plover, Vanity by Sir Charles, Giggler by Tomboy, Duchess of York by Waxy, Moses dam by Johanna, Gray Skin by Woodpecker, Herod, Golden Grape (imp.), by Barnton out of Hop-picker, by Orlando out of Holbine by Sir Hercules. Barnton is a brother to Vcltueur. Bothwell has proved himself a sure foalgetter, and his stock, as two-year-olds, are well known to be the best in the district. Fair Wave was supposed to be one of the grandest Arab mares ever imported to New Zealand,

New Chum has shown his good breeding both on the turf and at the stud. He made his first appearance in Wellington, where he started in a two and-a-half mile race, weight for age, beating Whitefoot, Gazelle, and others. Then went to Napier, where he was beaten by Never Miss by a head, New Chum carrying 211bs over, Never Miss beating Lady Grey and others. He then saddled for the Consolation, beating Wairarapa, Lady Grey and Wide-awake. Terms, £3 10s each mare. Two or more mares, the property of the same owner, as per agreement.
