Sir Julius Vugkl was bred by Mr Holly, of Chriftcliureh, the breaker of Champion, who also gained First Prize three years in succession at the Auckland Sir Julius is a horse of g eat hair, bone, and substance, and for action luh no equal of his class. Imported Major was hied in England, and sold to the lulu John Commode, of I'asmuniii, f>r £l(J00, and then purchased by the lute Ben Newel, Esq, for the sum of £l3OO, for New Zealand, where his stock are deemed, in Auckland and Wanganui, the guinea stamp ut (frst sight., without further investigation. He is now in Canterbury, where stock owners often ride thirty hnd forty miles to see Major, and good judges say (hut Mujor is the uiost perfect hor?e I hut ever left Knglund. The liimed Nugget, in Waikato, is by Major, and Mr T Greg’s Young Major, at Wanganui. The greatest favorite in all that, part, is a son to the renowned ol«i horse : the best mures north and south trace decent to ALijor; likewise the prize-lakers at the Auckland Show for many years. MR Julius is now rising 7 years old.
