SWIMMING CONTEST, JJJJIR,— In your contemporary of last even, log I see some strong animadversion, cast upon me for having walked along the shore in the presence of the spectator, at the swimming contest on Saturday. I can only state that I have competed for eix enps, which I have now in my possession, and which I won in the presence of between 4,000 and 6,000 spectators, withont ever having been accused of being indecent. The thing complained of would never have attracted the notice of the most fashionable concourse of spectators at Home, and can only have emanated in the brain of some one who is totally ignorant of wl:at is decent.
