Granby Stakes (two-year-olds) won by Lord Roseberry's Saviour ; Lorillard'a Nievan, 2 ) Prince SoltykofFa Diateate, 3, Four starters. Keene, the American turf man, gave Garrison, the Brighton Beach jockey, who rode his horse Bolero in the Handicap on Thursday, 20th September, £3OO. Walton, the American “ plunger,” took to a heavy amount the long odds offered against hi* mare Girofle, for the Cesarewitch and Cambridge Stakes. He made a clean sweep of the bookmakers' “ ring ” at Newmarket. The Cesarewitch Stakes at Newmarket were won on October Sth by Don Juan | Harkness second, and Cornua third. There were 22 starters. When the leaders were six furlongs from home, Glroflfl fell away beaten. This was one of the race* " Plan- fl ger" Walton was so confident of winning with his mare. A walking match between Scott and Edwards for 48 hours and 24 hours respectively for £lOO, ioser to receive £25. ha* been arranged, and is expected to come off at an early date.
