BOATING.
On Thursday night last, Barnes' was the only crew out, though several pairs were afloat. On Friday morning the members rolled up about six o'clock, and cleaned and scoured the boats, shed &o. In the evening Messrs Barnes and Ratcliffe had their crews again at work, both doing good practice. It is to be hoped the other crews will roll up and make more regular practice, as their time is very short, and they will have all they can do to get into good working trim by the race day. Several members are suffering from a certain temporary indisposition, incidental to all beginners in acquatic sports which almost prevents them from using the oar. The Cups which have been presented by Captain Porter, to be given to the winning crew of the forthcoming race, are now on view at Messrs Good Bros, they are valuable cups, and we hope to see a warm contest lor them, We believe a fifth crew has been formed to compete in the trial fours on the 80th, It consists of W. 0. Skeot (stroke), A. Grossman, 3 | P. O’Meara, 2 i and B, O'Meara, bow. _
