Sir,—The ketch Lucy James has already Kt'ained a certain am •nut of notoriety, and it would appear hs if there was a desire on the part of Mr H, E, Jo'instone to perpeluiteit. Yesterday, my men, whilst ashore, wore accosted by him, and asked .who pain them. They replied that I did. It is •vi lent that the young gentleman finding himself foiled in his attempt, to get the vessel, is now desirous of injuring me. 1 simply wish to show my fellow-townsmen the spirit by which he is actuated, and will confident!) leave my case i.o their judgment.
