Rome is about to be invaded by the Salvation Army, and the advanced guard—consisting Miss Faytling, accompanied by two Swiii maids and an Australian manservant—hat
already arrived in tho Eternal city to make arrangements for the invasion. Their work, it is said, will partake of the usual demonstrations at the outset, it being desired to effect some substantial organisation and arrange* ment before “ enlisting recruits ” generally. Miss Faytling proceeds shortly to Naples, but will return to Rome in September for the active Salvationists campaign. In Switwrland the ill-fortune of the army still pursue! ivs members, the sale of Salvationist tracts in the streets being interdicted by the Genevan notice, while two of the “ officers have been fl nod 200 francs each for selling Mr Booth’s hymns.” __________
