FINE ARTS AND INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION MEETING.
A meeting to finally settle the arrangements in connection with the above was held last night at the new Library Buildings. Mr Sigley said the business was to com plete the list nf prizes, etc. Mr McKay, the Secretary, said no eats* logue had been sent in, nor could one be formed till they were in. He thought it could be complied on the opening day of the Show. He had already got about fifteen 2a 6d advertisements to put on the back of the catalogue. This would pay for the printing. Mr Sigley said he expected a great many exhibits would be sent in to-morrow.
The Secretary thought it would facilitate motters if it were notified to exhibitors that if they sent in a list of their intending exhibits, they would be sent for on Friday. Thia was decided on,
Tho Secretary than read a list of some who had promised to exhibit, and also took down the names of those of the Committee who were present, who would exhibit. Mr Keaton (Chairman) said with regard to carters. One or two carters would be required to go round and collect the exhibits, Mr Murchie thought that the matter be left in the hands of the Secretary, and the others who were going round. He would also more that a small advertisement be inserted to tho effect that carters would call on Friday for the exhibits. Both the above suggestions wore agreed to. The question of lights and the location of exhibits were next discussed at| considerable length, The Chairman thought that two or three persons ought to be appointed to arrange tha exhibits, and also to look after the obtaining of tables.
The Secretary would propose that Messrs Murchie, Fiuneran, and Cruil, be the committee to look after the same,-—Carried. The Chairman then read a letter from Mr Richardson the country collector of exhibits, stating that ho found it very difficult to obtain any, and could only rely on a few. Further discussion took place with regard to ticketing the exhibits &c., after which the meeting adjourned,
