AUCKLAND PRODUCE MARKET, (tbom oub own correspondent.) Friday, October 12 Mr Alfred Buckland reports t—At the Haymarket Yards on Friday last* fodder sold at previous value. Prices ranged from 8s 9d to 6s per cwt. Horse stock aold freely. Those of a fight description ranged from L 5 to LIO each i fairly strong riding horwes up to Lis ; medium draught, suitable for oiunibus work, LIS to LUO ; strong farm horses up to L 32 10s. At the hide and skin sale on Tuesday, hides ranged from ijd to 2fd per lb ; tallow, 27s to 29s per cwt j sheepskins, from Is 3d to 3s lid each; cross-bred wool, 4|d to Set per lb. At the Remuera cattle fair on Wednesday about 900 head of stock were sold, and of these jfully 600 were steers, between three and fire years old ; yearlings and calves were in much less numbers than usual, and not many cows were yarded. A few young bulls sold fairly well. Cows wore at late prices j calves and yearlings advanced in price over late market prices from 6s to 10s each j but grown steers were at late relative values. Yearlings ranged from 30s to 455, and one pen reached L 3. Two-year olds were but little better worth j three-year olds, ranged from L 3 to LI 10s j four year olds, L 3 10s to L 4 10s, the highest price obtained being L 5 15s for well br«-d five-year old steers in fresh condition At Remuera on Thursday, dairy cows were numerous, and maintained their price. Store cat’le wore in average supply, and slightly better worth than at th© sale the day before. Fat cattle were in full numbers, and generally heavy weights. Last week’s prices, 2ls for good light and medium weights to 23s for heavy cattle, were fully sustained. The fat sheep market was fairly filled but bare of good quality, and well fatted sheep were 3|d the lb. Store sheep were dull of sale, but lambs were in moderate number and brisk enquiry. Good quality brought from 14s to 16s each. Store pigs were in unusually large numbers, and in steady demand at late values, but fat pigs were lower in price.
