COOKTOWN, Oct. 15 Captain Ai mit (the special correspondent of the Melbourne Argus) and Members of his expedition arrived here from New Guinea Only one of the party is free from fever Captain Arm it reports that Professor Durton who was accompanying him to New Guinea, succumbed to fever on the 26th of August
MELBOURNE, Saturday. Professor Denton, he states, died from exhaustion after a severe actack of fever.
The Victorian Amateur Turf Club Meeting took place to day. The fallowing was the result of the race for the Caulfield Guineas, one mile : Sardius 1; Delusion 2 ; Ike 3. Thirteen horses started. Sardius won easily. Time, Imin 46sec.
