THIS Gr&ndly-bred Horse is rising six years, and is by Traitor, dam Myrtle, by Golden Grape (imp.) out of Moss Rose. Traitor by Traducer, out of Deception, by Young Plover, Vanity by Sir Charles, Giggler by Tomboy, Duchess of York by Waxy, Moses dan? by Johanna, Gray Skin by Woodpecker, Herod, Golden Grape (imp.), by Barnton out of Hop-picker, by Orlando out of Holbine by Sir Hercules. Barnton is a brother to Voltigeur. Bothwell has proved himself a sure foalgetter, and his stock, as two-year-olds, are well known to be the best in the district.

TVTEW CHUM is now 9 years old, with JLi plenty of power, and a sure foal getter. Ho was bred by Mr Donald Fraser, Rangitikei, by Traducer, dam Fair Lass, by Riddlesworth, grand dam Fair Wave, imported from Sydney. Fair Wave was supposed to be one of the grandest Arab mares ever imported to New Zealand.

New Chum has shown his good breeding both on the turf and at the stud. He made his first appearance in Wellington, where he started in a two-and-a-half mile race, weight for age, beating Whitefoot, Gazelle, and others. Then went to Napier, where ho was beaten by Never Miss by a head, New Chum carrying 211bs over, Never Miss beating Lady Grey and others. He then saddled for the Consolation, beating Wairarapa, Lady Grey and Wide-awake. Terms, £3 10s each mare, Two or more marcs, the property of the same owner, as por agreement.
