NEW CHUM is now 9 years old, with plenty of power, and a t-urs foal getter. He was bred by Mr Donald Fra*er, Rangitikei, by Traducer, dam Fair Lass, by Riddlesworth, grand dam Fair Wave, imported from Sydney. Fair Wave was supposed to be one of the grandest Arab mares ever imported to New Zealand. New Chum has shown his good breeding both on the turf and at the stud. He made his first appearance in Wellington, where he started in a two and-a-ludf mile race, weight for age, beating Whitefoot, Gazelle, and others. Thon went to Napier, where ho was beaten by N’*ver Mil’s by’ a head, New Chum carrying 2libs over, Never Miss beating Lady Grey and others. He then saddled for the Consolation, beating Wairarapa, Lady Grey and Wide-awake. Terms, £3 10s each mare. Two or more marcs, the property of the same owner, as per agreement.
