CORRESPONDENCE.

We do not hold ourselves responsible for the opinion* expressed by our correspondents). :o; TO THE EDITOR. Sir As a ratepayer I most cordially thunk “Hard Nuts” for his able lettei wnich appeared in your last issue. Could you not prevail upon Councillor Tutchen, who appears to be very solici-ous about the ratepayers pockets, to devote a little ot that energy which he has «o persistently plied against your small advertising contract to take up this must vital question. lappears to me that unless the majority of the Councillors have either a “crow to pluck,” or “ a nest to feather” they care little how the ratepayers money is spent. 1 sincerely hope that the new Councillors will give this mutter their earnest attention and go in for Retrenchment.
