(From our own Correspondent.) LONDON, September 17. The cargo of frozen meat on board the steamship Cuzco, from Sydney, arrived in good condition. The cargo of mutton by ship Opawa from ' Bluff, arrived in good condition, but the quality of meat is inferior to previous shipments. The first portion of the cargo was sold to-day at fijd to 6Jd per pound. News is to hand that the ship St Leonard, bound for New Zealand with immigrants, foundered in the Channel by a collision with .mother vessel, all the passengers and crew of the St. Leonard have been landed at Dartmouth. ► O’Donnell, who is charged with the mur< der of James Carey, the Irish informer, hasW arrived at Plymouth from the Cape, and will shortly be placed on his trial. At the wool sale to-day, 11,700 bales were offered. The market continues firm, Later.—The illfated ship, St Leonards, which foundered .in the Channel off Dartmouth, was only one day out, having left on the 15th inst. The vessel with which she came into collision was the Cormorant It is feared that the latter was severely injured, but nothing is definitely known regarding the extent of her injuries. September 1 . The ship St Leonard sank within a very short time after the collision with the Cormorant. The emigrants were not able to save anything.
