PARLIAMENTARY.

_ WELLINGTON. In the Legislative Council on Thursday the Murihiku Beserves Bill, Taumutu Native Commouage Bill were read a second time. Mr Whitaker’s High School Bill passed through Committee. The Timaru Race Course Bill was read a third time and passed. The debate was resumed on Chamberlain’s motion re Forest Conservation, which was agreed to by the House. Major Atkinson gave notice to move that Mr Dargaville having charged the Premier and Colonial Treasurer with using for years their position for the purpose of promoting legislation and not for the good of the Colony, but in the interests of the Bank of New Zealand, especially in assisting to Paes Publis Debts Act, 1887, and further accusing the Premier of receiving the sum of £lO,OOO or some portion of £lO,OOO as payment for services rendered in passing Public Revenues Act, 1867, a select committee, consisting of Driver, Hurst, Maeandrew, Montgomery, Steward, J. E. Brown and J. Wilson be appointed to enquire and report to the House.

The following New Bills were introduced and read a first time—Election of Land Boars, Disposal of Pastoral Lands, Russell Exchange of Land, and Animals Protection Amendment.

The following Bills were read a second time-—City of Auckland Ad* ditional Loan Bill, Wttimate High School Bill, Wellington Harbor Board Land and Reclamation Bill.

The following Bills patsed—Massey Frauds Idemnity, Westland High School, Invereargill Reserves Exchange, Masterton and Greytown Lauds Management, Taiaroa Land and Guardian Trust ahd Executors.

The Ministry were appointed to consider what roads should be gazetted main roads under the Roads and Bridges Construction Act, whether applications should be received this year from local bodies which had not applied last year. The Bills of Exchange Bills was read a third time and passed. The Criminals Execution Bill and Property Law Consolidation Bills were read a second time. The* Crown Grants Bill passed through committee. The Mining Company's Act Amendments Bill was further considered in committee.
