The Southern Cross will arrW« during the day from Auckland. She calls in at Tuparoa and Tologa Bay. The Wairarapa will arrive from Auckland on Friday next. The Waihora may be expected to arrive from Melbourne and Southern x orts on Monday next, early in the morning. The Taiaroa is expected from North on Sunday next. The Union Company's little tender the ” Snark,” under the careful pilotage of Captain Kennedy (of Kennedy and Bennett « firm) left Gisborne for Tologa on Monday at a.m. Judge Brookfield and his staff, and several other gentlemen were passengers. The Snark has recently undergone extensive alterations, and is now comfort' ably decked in. She arrived at Tologa Bay and anchored in the river about 12 o clock, after a very pleasant passage. A start on the return trip was made at 4 p.m., but as a head wind was anticipated Captain Kennedy steamed into Cook’s Cove, and took in ballast ; at 5.50 p.m, steamed for Gisborne, encountering a head wind and sea all the way, and arrived alongside the wharf about 2.30 on Tuesday morning.
