The 8.8. Rotomahant will arrive from Auckland on Saturday next. As the Southern Cross has not yst arrived in Napier, she may not be expected to arrive here until to-morrow or the next day, The s.s. Taiaroa, which was expected to arrive from Auckland yesterday, had not done so when we went to press, and it is thought she has passed on her way south. The Snark is now thoroughly completed, and presents an entire change to what she was when first she arrived here, She is decked now, and there is plenty of aeeominodation for passengers to and from the steamers, She is far more capable of taking the bar in bad and stormy weather than before, An enquiry was held hefc?M the tolleater of Customs and Captain Andrews, Nautical Assessor, in the Custom House, on Tuesday last, on the stranding oi the schooner Agnes Donald. Captain Bradly gave evidence to the effect that on the 7th of July he was lying at anchor in the bay when the wind freshened to a gale ; and at 4 a,in, on Sunday morning nis cable parted, when the schooner ran on the beach. She was got off on Monday, July 28. The estimated damage done is about £lO.
