SPECIAL MEETING. The Harbour Board having resolved itself into a Special Borough Council meeting, the necessary qualification and duties of fire engine caretaker and engineer were read, Tenders. The following tenders for caretaker and engineer were opened s—G, Williamsen (caretaker), £l. per week ; P. Maher (caretaker), £1 10s per week ; P, L. O’Meara (as engineer), £5O per annum ; P. L. O’Meara (as caretaker and engineer), £BO per annum j R. Harper (caretaker), £2 per week j R, More (caretaker), £24 per annum ; J. Fagan (caretaker), £1 per week ; J. Smail) (engineer), £l2 per snnum , J. Palmer (engineer and custodian), £lOO per annum ; B. S. Aston (custodian), £lOO per annum. The tenders of J. Smail as engineer, and R. Moore as custodian, being the lowest, were accepted,
