SHIPPING.
Th» schoonar Saucy Kale left for Whangarei, in ballast, yesterday aftnrnoon. The S 3 Ta : aroa will not arrive here from the south until Thursday morning. She will leave again at 8 o’clock the same morning. The schooner Gisborne, Captain J. H. Skinner, attempted to sail out of the river for the Coast and Auckland on Sunday last, but on account of it being low water she could not get out. She will sail this afternoon, The schooner Columbia arrived yesterday from Napier with a cargo of coals consigned to Mr 11. K. Johnson She is now lying alongside the wharf, apd is discharging hor cargo. We are informed that the New Zealand Shipping Company have decided to load another ship at this port next year, the Asterion, 500 tons, iron. This will make two boats with the Lochnagar, and shows I the growing importance of the place.
