THE FIRE ENGINE HOSE.
, TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Who is responsible for the two or three hundred feet of Steam Fire Engine Hose which has laid coiled up on the ground at the back of the old Engine shed fur several months back ? Will the droppings from the eaves together with the sun and wind improve its usefulness in case of o fire, especially as it lays on the ground of the sunny side of the shed. F.S.—Since writing the above, a few days ago one coil was removed, and the rest still remains,—l am &c., Querist. Gisborne, 22nd June 1883.
