THE LAND NATURALISATION ASSOCIATION.
A meeting, having for its object the embodying of an association under the above heading, and enrolment of members, was held in the Good Templars’ Hall last evening. Mr Ross was called to the chair, and stated -the reason for calling the meeting. After some discussion, the chairman was elected president, and Mr File secretary and treasurer. A number of members were enrolled and and paid their fees. The objects of the association are (a) to prevent the further permanent alienation of Crown lands in this colony, (b) To advocate a system of leasing in lieu thereof, (c) To endeavor to direct as far as possible public attention to af consideration of the importance ofthe question of land tenure. The meeting was adjourned to Monday next. A vote of thanks to the chair man closed the proceedings.
