The following telegram from Sydney ap* ears in the Melbourne Argus * The ?nion Company’s steamer Albion, which rrived here from Wellington, experienced a eavy passage. She haa been laid up at ’ort Chalmers for some months past, and as been sent over here for the purpose of eing sold. Captain Tozer, of the Arawata, rhich is at present lying in Port Chalmers, irought her over.” Forty-one British and Foreign actual shin, vrecks were reported during the week end ng 7th April, making a total of 645 for the >resent year, or an increase of 20*5 as com>ared with the corresponding period of last ?ear, the increase for the week being 13. Sritish-owned vessels numbered 24, Eight were steamers, with an aggregate tonnage of 1327 tons, seven being British steamers, with i tonnage of 4156 tons. Total tonnage lost for the week, 15,071 tons. Total number of lives lost ana missing, 88.
