ROYAL AUSTRALIAN CIRCUS.

Thb Roy I Australian Circus, which ic nt present wintering in Auckland, -rill be rcsusclt.tad under most nromuing auspices shortly. No expanse is being eparwd ia making the a how a really firet-olasa sbo.

Letters received from Mr W»odyoar, the proprietor, state that he will return by the next mail steamer with a variety of novelties. During his stay in San Franciseo, he has purchased a valuable trick stallion for £>soo, cannon for the purpose of shooting the performers on to the trapeze, and rendering climbing unnecessary, and also an electric light. The latter investment should prove to be a great draw in itself, while it will be wonderfully effective and convenient for lighting the tcilt while travelling in country districts. Mr Woodyear, at the time of writing, was having ten waggons for the road constructed. So far as talent is concerned, he had been equally enterprising. Several performers had been engaged, and he intended travelling east in search of others. It will thus be seen that the next mail steamer will bring extensive additions for the Circus. Independent of these at* tractions, Mr lx. Love* the manager of the concern, has completed arrangements for the engagement of a number of clever aorobats, riders, und other novelties at present in Australia, These include the Herbert family, equestrians and trapeze performers; Prof. Sylvester and Ids troupe of dogs and monkeys ; Scow, a Japanese tumbler of ability ; and Albert King, tumbler and rider. Thus improved, the Circus will be one of the strongest combinations that has yet travelled the Colony. It is expected that the show will open in Auckland about the end of July, and will then start on a New Zealand tour-—“ Auckland Star.”
