Presentation to the Rev. Father Boyle

Aftbb Vespers on Sunday evening, the Rev, Father Boyle ascended the altar steps, and in terms so feeling and eloquent thatthey penetrated the hearts of his hearers, causing many to weep, gave his farewell benediction. After the termination of this touching cere* mony, and in response to an invitation by Father Boyle's successor (Father Riordan) a numerous and interested concourse of the congregation met in the Presbytery to witness the presentation of several tokens of esteem to Father Boyle. These consisted of • beautiful mothor-of-pearl visiting card-case, mounted and inlaid with silver, presented by Mrs. Sullivan ; a large and handsome album, by Mrs Brosnahan ; a splendid sealskin purse, containing £B7 7s 6, by Mr*. M. O’Connor. A beautifully got-up address on white satin (quite a work of art, the joint production of Mr J. Mogridge and Mr J. Ballantyne) was next presented to Father Boyle by his gifted and worthy successor, in feeling and eloquent terms. The rev. recipient received these grateful and flattering acknowledgments of his labors in suitable terms, and heartfelt blessings were called for from on high for the departing priest, Father Boyle.
