HALL CHARGES.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—My name having been mentioned in a report of the Standard of the 7th inst., apparently by Mr Boylan, that on the Go vernors visit. I had made my usual charges for the Academy of Music, t beg to say that on the 23rd of May a public meeting was held in my hall, and as lighting, cleaning
' v attea ding to a hall, causes considerable 1 made a charge of two guineas, but my usual charge is three guineas. On May 28th the Governors levee was held in the Academy of Music, for which I refused to make any charge whatever.—l am &c., P. McFaklane. Gisborne, Sth Juue, 18S3.
