The condition of the poorer classes in the United Kingdom at the present time is exciting a considerable amount of attention, and several schemes for the alleviation of their distress, have been proposed. f The central association has now been formed in London for the purpose of promoting emigration to the British Colonies from amongst the unemployed. Mr Childers, Chancellor of Exchequer, bn delivering his budget speech, received general congratulations for the excellent, and dear manner in which he placed the whole financial position before the Eon. members. A commercial treaty has been signed between Spain and Germany. This will have the effect of terminating the difficulties which have frequently arisen between the two countries with regard to the tariff. The dynamite and other explosives which were found in a factory at Birmingham were destroyed. Last night the excitement in town was intense on account of the panic which has arisen in England, consequent upon the recent action of the dynamite party, has ex- ' tended to the Continent. The recent outrages in England have aroused a strong feeling of disgust throughout America. It is probable that in the event of the English Government applying for the extradition of those who have taken a prominent part in the recent conspiracies, the authorities of the U. S. will accede to their request. It is reported that the Ctar has decided that his coronation shall not taka place on ’ the 27th of May as originally arranged.
