(HtOM OUR OWN CORRESrONUKNT), Arrival of the lohooner (Hebome. AUCKLAND, Yesterday. Title schooner Gisborne arrived in Auckland on Wednesday evening last, at 5 o’clock. Captain J. H. Skinner reports I —Left Gis* borne on the 30th March ; ran down to Waitotara, but there was too heavy a sea running to land, so ran on to Tologa Bay, but there met with the same success; had to stand to sea for two days till the sea smoothed down. On Monday landed goods at Waitotara, Tologa Bay and Anaura. On Tuesday landed goods at Walpiro, Aku Aku, Tuparoa, and Awanui. On Wednesday proceeded to Waiapu, but there was too much sea on the beach, and a heavy souther coming on had to run round to Kawakawa, and there shipped 50 sacks maize, and sailed into the Bay of Plenty. On Saturday tha wind shifted ) ratt back to Waiapu ; shipped all the maize there* and left for Auckland on Monday evening, arriving there as stated above, after a very rough passage. The following is a list of her cargo :—206 sacks maize, Ul> pigs, 4 bales wool, 11 sacks onions, 100 sacks grass seed) 10 cases cheese, and a quantity of sundries. Passengers—Mrs Morgan, Mr E. Walker, Mr Carter and 4 natives. [ria unitbd rases association]. AUCKLAND, Yesterday, The Oovernor yesterday visited the Hospital and Lunatic asylum. The prospectus of the Auckland Shipping Company, with a capital of £150,000, appears to-day. It proposes to purchase Stone Bros' fleet. Mr Richard Laishley, solicitor, has betii elected Chairman of the Board of Education. The Governor, to day, with Cant, Dale, of H.M.S. Diamond, and the members of the Harbor Board, visited the Sugar Co.'s works and Calliope Graving Dock. Capt. Dale of the Diamond, spoke in laudatory terms of the undertaking, saying when completed the dock would be able to take in the largest vessels in Her Majesty's nivy, the Inflexible not excepted. His Excellency also spoke favorable of the dock and site, and com mended the wisdom of the Board in making it capacious. Mr Bryce is still stuck up at Alexandra through floods.
