FIRING FOR THE BELT.

The competition for the Helt presented by A. McDonald, Esq., M.H.R., took place on Saturday afternoon last. There were eight competitors. A. Nash who made tho highest score, now takes possession of the Belt for tho next six months, when it will be again fired for. This is the second competition for it, Mr A. O’Meara being top scorer on the first occasion. 0. Hansen made the second highest score, and A. O’Meara the third. From what we can learn the firing throughout was very poor and anything but up to the mark as it should have been, for it was a fine day, with little or no wind, and everything calculated to secure good shooting,
