CRICKET.

WAIROA V. GISBORNE. The match to take place to.day, between W.tiroa and Gisborne, should result in a victory for the latter as in addition to the bad roads the weather was most unfavorable for travelling. Ycsterday eight of thu contingent arrived, but four of the others had not, up to the hour of our going to press, put in an appearance. Those who will arrive will be jaded and almost unfitted for a cricket field. Thia is a matter for regret as we would have liked to have seen our men meet foemcn worthy of their steel. The names of those who have arrived are—Fraser (Captain), Porter, Leach, Hird, Gatdner, Beckett, Strickland, and F. Maney. Flint and Pool are reported to bt on their way.
