Yesterday. [Before A. Grab km, b>q., and E, K. Brows’, Esq., J.P.’S] FROHißrnvc orders. Gibson Kirk Turton appeared to show cause why he should not be prohibited from being supplied with liquor on the ground that he was destroying his health. I'llo defendant contended that his health was in no way impaired by drink, he took drink for his health’s sake, and not for its detriment. After hearing the evidence of Sergeant Bullen, Mr T. J. Dickson, and Dr, Pollen, the Bench decided that a prohibition order be granted to extend through the Poverty Bay Licensing District fur one year. Charles Cecil Lewis, against whom a similar application had been made, admitted the fact, and was dealt with in a like manner. NUISANCE. J. If. Aislabie was charged with having committed a nuisance by permitting certain offensive matter to remain on and about certain premises used as a slaughter-house. The case was adjourned until Saturday next.
