“ AGE” SPECIALS. Lox don, Feb. 28. The members of the Irish Land League in America are greatly disappointed with the leadership of Mr Parnell. His recent speech in the House of Commons has created disgust by its hesitating and evasive tone. The Irish population of the United States M are greatly incensed at the action of Government in consenting to the demand of the English authorities for the extradition of Sheridan, who is accused of being a member of the Assassins’ Committee. Protests are pouring in from all quarters against the sur« render of Sheridan, and it is now considered extremely doubtful whether he will be given up when arrested. London, March 2. j The German Press have recently devoted I considerable attention to the Irish question. They unanimously condemn the action of Mt ! Parnell in not being more decided in disowning any sympathy with the Phmnix Park i outrages. It is reported that these documents include , accounts showing appropriations from the funds of the League for the “ Secret Murder J Fund ” and that Egan’s action is part of a 1 ; preconcerted plan to render the proposed i audit of the books impossible. With a view to rendering knowledge of Colonixl matters more general, the London . School B< >ard decided to amend the curiculuirt i now in force in schools, and introduce a series of books containing special reformation with I regard to the Colonics. The prosecution of a man named Toole for , blasphemy, has resulted in a conviction, and ; he has been sentenced to 1 year’s imprison* , ment, with hard labor. I
The Scotch residents in London are agi* tating for the amendment of the land laws relating to the Highlands of Scotland. Several public meetings were held for the purpose of bringing their views under the notice of the Government. M. Firney, a French Minister, announced that his Ministry do not propose to make any alteration in the attitude which France assmed in regard to members of the legitimist function. Due de Charters, one of the French Prin* ces who on the 25th ult„ was placed on the retired list of the French army, intends to visit India shortly. J The Prussian Governmentjhas resolved to expel Danish residents from Prussia on the ground that Danes refuse to perform military service with the army now stationed in Schlewig.
