(BY CABLE.— REUTER’B TELEGRAMS). MELBOURNE, Feb. 24. It is understood that the election of J. Stockwell, for Rodney, and Mi’ Ross, for Melbourne North, will be declared void, on the ground that the elected representatives hold Government appointments, and therefore ineligible to sit in the Assembly. SYDNEY, Feb. 26. A successful trial has been made of the pumps which have been fitted for raising the Austral. She now lies on an even keel, and it is expected that she will be floated in a day or two.
