In such cases it is the duty of the Public Trustee to discharge all legal debts as far as the assets extend, and divide the residue amongst the next of kin. 4. The administration of the estates of lunatics, lunatic patients, and convicts. 6. The charge of all lands lying waste and unoccupied of which the owner is unknown, or who has been absent from the Colony for ten veare, having left no known agent.
